Chas picked up a couple of bottles of Oregon Pinot Noir in the $20 price range for this week’s show. Both of these are regularly available on the Portland market, and we wanted to give them a try. We taste the 2010 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir from Cameron, and the 2010 Grande Cuve Pinot Noir from Solena Estate.

Have you done any good hikes this summer?

Thanks for the new video! The Dundee Hills Pinot Noir from Cameron sounds really good! I like the description of the nose.

Your question: Last weekend I’ve been doing some hiking in vineyards on the northern rim of Black Forest. Not a really super mountainous hike, but a great view and not so bad Pinot ;-) . It was the Engelsfelsen (Angel Rock) in Bühlertal.

This online-project from a wine-geek might interest you guys the next time you look for a specific Mosel, Burgundy (and some more) vineyard. Unfortunately just in German, but not really complicated.

Bald Mountain to Ramona Falls, great hike, mostly down hill. Need to stage a car at the Ramona trailhead then drive up towards Lolo Pass to start the hike.

I really like the Bald Mountain and Ramona Falls area too! When I did the Timberline trail, I did it the uphill way though. I’ll bet that’s a pretty chill hike going the other way.
