Episode 177: A Big Pour
April 22, 2013
Our friend Matt, who has joined us on a number of episodes, recently had a housewarming party. Since previous parties have involved Champagne antics, we decided to step it up, and document it. We had a bottle of Champagne from Francis Cossy on hand. All three of us are quite fond of it, and we looked forward to drinking the rest of the bottle. Thanks to Joy and Matt for running the cameras, and thanks to Chas for being brave enough to record two takes! We’ll be back to our regular program next week! Viva el delfin rosado!
Episode 170: Excellent Pink Wine
February 25, 2013
Dan picked out a couple of bottles of Pinot Noir based rose wine for this week’s show. Both had been good in the past, and both showed brilliantly when tasted this time. Both come from unique vineyards and represent some really original wine growing and wine making. Wines like this are a big reason that Oregon is such an exciting place to explore. They also show that Pinot Noir can deliver great things in unconventional wines as well as traditional ones. We taste the 2011 Teutonic Wine Company Brut Rose from the Wahlstrom Vineyard, and the 2011 Analemma Columbia Gorge Rose.

Episode 85: A Visit With Grochau Cellars
May 1, 2011
After reviewing the 2009 Commuter Cuvee by Grochau Cellars winemaker John Grochau got in touch with us and we went to visit him at his winery in NW Portland. He shared some great information about his wines and it was great to see a whole lineup targeted at approachable price points. We tasted the 2008 release of Grochau Cellars Dundee Hills Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Cuvee Des Amis Pinot Noir and Matador. What type of grape would you like to see grown or grown more often in the Willamette Valley?
